Community Management poll: 36% of students experience bottlenecks with integration in Dutch society
A Community Management poll among STE Languages students from November 2023 shows that 36% experience significant bottlenecks in integrating into Dutch society. In contrast, 24% of students find it relatively easy to integrate. The most significant bottlenecks are learning the Dutch language (60%), having difficulty gaining real contact with Dutch people/Dutch people living in their own 'bubble' (18%) and experiencing problems with Dutch culture (15%).
Students are very pleased with the STE Languages events that have been given so far and indicate that events/workshops around Dutch culture and special holidays are looked-for 2024.
